Town to Reveal Third Kit Tonight
Wednesday, 25th Oct 2023 10:19

The Blues are set to unveil their third kit at half-time during TownTV's coverage of tonight’s game at Bristol City.

Town were due to launch the strip by wearing it during Friday’s live Sky game at Rotherham with no prior announcement until the players removed their training tops, but the match was postponed due to the River Don bursting its banks in the wake of Storm Babet.

We should always wear blue when we can. As the away kit is orange I am not sure why a third kit is needed, but fair enough if it generates extra income I suppose. I just prefer it when teams stick to their traditional home colours wherever possible.

I'm guessing black, orange and pink horizontal stripes like the old Wanderers FC top. Any other guesses?

Surely blue & white / bright orange are all that's needed...?

It’s white isn’t it! I think that video is the back of last years black shirt?

High likelihood of white shirt, blue shorts, white socks I’d guess.

It’s part and parcel of majority of teams now to have a third kit and considering how much the club made off the black kit last year I don’t blame them doing it again. Any extra revenue gives us more wages or budget for January window

Always liked a white shirt and socks, black shorts.

We have a fabulous fan base who already have invested heavily in supporting Town through record sales of the current season’s shirts as well as that abomination of the black kit. With our traditional blue kit and the back up orange kit, there is absolutely no need for a third as there are no opponents in the Champoinship whose colours would necessitate us requiring a third kit. A rip off!

Not a fan of any orange kit and I've never bought one. So chances are I will like the third kit much better - but that's just my personal choice.

Going back a long way, but I always liked the yellow shirts, blue shorts and yellow socks.

personally, I liked last years 3rd kit. I'm not a huge fan of our away strip this year and I'm not fond of our home kit (apart from the colour) so I'd definitely buy a 3rd kit if I like the look of it. every team does it, so I don't see an issue. I'd love a light blue (cyan) sort of kit, that would look great.

Kiffir1 and ArnieM. Just like the old Ambassadors kit from 1980 Ipswich Sunday morning league division 5!!! I remember it well !!!!!!!

The third kit concept is annoying, but a lot of people like it. Obviously, you don't have to buy it.
More annoying is having a new home and away kit every year. I really like the home kit from last year and the away kit for this season, so that will do me for a very long time.

I think last Season's kits were exceptionallyy good - the best I can remember as a set of three and I normally don't like black kits. Eager to see what the third kit will be but as has been quoted by others, better not to change unless we have to. I think fans of any Club would say that - Burnley would rather play in claret, Leeds in white etc.

12 games into a season seems a strange time to unveil a new kit?

Strange how that old yellow and blue kit (had a poster of Trevor Whymark posing in it on my wall when I was a boy) looks so classy, but yellow and green, for some reason, is an abomination.

Blues1, are you that rude to people throughout life or is it just a keyboard thing?

Kiffer1 - Yellow and blue reflecting the colours of the Ipswich Town badge until some numpty changed that to red and blue. I blame a fifth columnist from Martlesham for that because BT changed from yellow and blue corporate colours to red and blue too for their logo!
