Trio in Top Championship Select XI
Monday, 16th Oct 2023 10:55

Vaclav Hladky, Leif Davis and Conor Chaplin are all included in Who Scored’s top-rated Sky Bet Championship XI so far this season.

The trio have been among the Blues’ top performers after a remarkable start to the season which has seen them win nine of their first 11 games and climb to second in the table having won promotion in May.

Last week, Kieran McKenna was named Championship Manager of the Month, only the fourth time a Blues boss has carried off the gong.

The consistently excellent Morsy goes under the radar again.

All three well deserved, but, as SpiritofJohn says, why no Morsy??

As previous 2 how on earth can Morsy not be in that 9.5 every match most consistent player around, guys a star genuine team player

Because it’s a team of individuals, rather than a ‘good team’ - every midfielder that’s there has been banging the goals in, it’s totally unbalanced and wouldn’t work as a team. As usual the creative players get the glory, but we all know that Morsy (and Luongo) are immense, the former utterly vital. As long as he goes under the radar of the Egyptian national team so we don’t lose him January I am happy!

But, kudos to Hladky - not many of us would have predicted that he’d be in OUR team, let alone the Championship team of the season (so far). So good with his feet.

I thought it was compulsory that any team like this had to include Barry Bannan?

Hladky being the biggest surprise, he has definitely more than replaced Walton as goalkeeper, much to my pleasant astonishment

We continue to be ignored in the main by the national sports media.
Amazed that it is only 2 sky games into November.
On holiday at present & spoke to a Man U fan & someone who follows Palace. Neither had heard of Mckenna.
Not for long as we rise

A Man Utd 'fan' who doesn't even recognise the name of someone who cut their teeth at the club. You do surprise me.

ChrisFelix - hopefully saving some of our bigger games (Naaaarwich, Leicester on Boxing Day, etc) for the schedule.

It's my one big worry for this season is the fitness of Sam Morsy he is so vital to our success. The Huddersfield game was a classic example we struggled against a very poor team and were lucky to get a point. To get a replacement for Morsy would cost a lot of money unless they were out of contract of course. I don't pay no regard to these team of the week formats and neither do the players just a bit of fun.
