Town Confirm Fleetwood Beamback
Wednesday, 3rd May 2023 17:57

Town have confirmed that they will be hosting a beamback of Sunday’s final game of the season at Fleetwood in the FanZone (KO midday).

The Blues have been given a limited number of tickets for the game at the Highbury Stadium so the club approached the EFL for permission to hold their second beamback of the season having previously hosted one for the visit to Cambridge United in February.

Up to 5,000 supporters will be able to watch Sunday’s action on two big screens in the FanZone with the main stadium unavailable due to the work on the pitch which has already got under way.

Tickets to the event, which is sponsored by DPS Tech, go on sale on Thursday at midday costing £5 via the club’s ticketing website with the full event running from 11am until 3pm with FanZone Presenter Dave Vant speaking to a number of special guests

Food venders will be open, while supporters will also be able to purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Town, who are already promoted, will win the title if they pick up more points at Fleetwood than leaders Plymouth manage at Port Vale.

Why wasn't this confirmed before they put IFollow stream passes on sale? Many of us will have already paid for a stream now!!! There is also no mention of whether seating will be provided for us older supporters who cannot stand for long periods. Come on Ipswich this is not the current way of doing things!!

It was always a likely candidate for a beam back. Anyway, people who already have an IFollow pass can just stay at home.

Great effort. Sounds like a terrific afternoon in the fan zone. But some people will always find something to moan about ......

I think we have missed a trick here. With the Ladies having their match kicking off at 2pm, we could have had a beamback, followed by the last match of the Ladies season at Portman Road. It isn't possible to get from Portman Road to Felixstowe in time to see both., so we have to choose. Imagine how we could have had a crowd of 10,000 or more watching the Ladies? Oxford might have found that quite intimidating!

OK, I know that they have begin to dig up the pitch, but surely that could have been delayed by a week, because if we had ended up in the playoffs, it would have been delayed by more, as we'd have had another home match to host.

Lord_Mac it's a nice idea, but the club have already said they are up against it to get the pitch ready in time for the new season, as it's a multi million pound renovation I imagine any delay is quite costly.

Lord Mac, in an ideal world that would have been a good idea but I'd sooner have the pitch dug up now, so there's a slim chance we can have the mens pre-season friendlies on it & to iron out any issues.
ITFC tried to change the timings for the ladies game but the powers that be wouldn't budge. Felixstowe gives them home advantage though, not PR.
I'm sure they would have though of it if they could have made it work.
If you understandably want to see both, ifollow is the best way.

I live in Spain now so I follow is my best friend. That said I would love to be with you guys in the fanzone. Sometimes it's not how much it costs. Take a chair to sit on, take a milk crate to stand on, whatever it takes to see the action and enjoy the atmosphere. COYB!

It says that the club approached the efl for permission to stage a beam back event. I assume that they had to wait for the permission to be granted. If would have been unprofessional of them to have gone ahead with organising an event they were not allowed to stage it.
They also have to consider the health safety and welfare of the customers and the appropriate staff and security etc. As we saw on Saturday, things can get out of hand when people that can't control themselves get over excited. 🤞🏆
