Monday, 9th Jan 2023 11:10

Tickets to Town’s away game at Cambridge United on Saturday 4th February sold out in minutes after going on sale this morning.

The Blues have been allocated 1,473 tickets for the visit to the Abbey Stadium, the shortest away trip of the League One campaign.

The entire allocation sold out within half an hour of going on sale to Gold members at 10am this morning.

Meanwhile, Town have been given 1,190 tickets for the visit to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday 14th February, which will go on sale to Gold members from Wednesday 11th January. Full details on the club website.

The gold card is such good value that as a ST holder it's crazy not to get one, assuming you have a friend or two, the free ticket alone pays for itself - hence there's a lot of them around. I'm guessing MK Dons will be giving us 10,000 this year!

In the past for games that we're going to sell out ( such as Norwich away) there has been an invitation letter sent to the fans that go to every game to avoid just what has happened today with a time they need to get their ticket before the remainder then went on sale.

There was plenty of time to do this , the game is still several weeks away so the ticket office have some explaining to do as to why several of the fans who go everywhere have been left without a ticket.

There are many ways of doing it , points systems is another way. No thought has been given.

As someone else said, how many of these fans are going to turn up at Bristol Rovers or Cheltenham away.

Very poor indeed.

I logged in at 9.59 selected my seat then before confirming it went SOLD OUT
Last season we got 2400! Entire goal end and part of the side stand!
I have heard from a colleague at work in Cambridge that the Cambridge fans moaned about itfc having so many tickets! How true that is I don't know? But I know this and one more time
ITFC WE ARE MASSIVE

Another reason to get out of this division.

Small clubs, small capacity.

I did manage to get 2 tickets, site was open little early as I was already logged on and saw they were there. Our success means a big following, unfortunately some of us will be unlucky, when there is a small allocation.

I'll get down voted for this but don't really care.

Yes there are more gold card holders than tickets available for most games (exception of MK Dons who can't even fill half their ground) but there is an option of a platinum membership for guaranteed away tickets. It's £80 so not cheap but the only way to ensure tickets, if the club made it cheaper everyone would get one and no one would get gold card tickets.

Secondly, tickets went live at 9.57 but couldn't be finalised in the basket until 10. I managed to get 2 tickets this way and just kept refreshing the checkout page until the button was available to press. A friend of mine says that they release the stands in batches, hence why Phil has said that it sold out in half hour.
