Buabo Signs First Pro Deal
Wednesday, 2nd Nov 2022 15:36

Striker Gerrard Buabo has signed his first professional deal with the club.

The second-year academy scholar, 17, who made his senior debut for Town as a late sub in the 2-0 Papa Johns Trophy victory over Arsenal’s U21s in September, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

A regular in the U21s this season, Buabo spent time on loan at Bury Town last term having joined Town as an U16 in early 2021.

As reported on Thursday, academy forward Nico Valentine has also signed a three-year deal.

With the level of coaching staff we now have we should be looking to bring these talents through into our own squad and not selling them on.

Bobbybell - I think that's usually the intention. Sale is usually a last resort not first.
