McKenna: Football Side Can't Be Separated From What's Going on Behind Scenes
Friday, 14th Oct 2022 15:58

Boss Kieran McKenna says the all-staff photo taken earlier in the week acknowledged the role played behind the scenes at Portman Road as well as the players and footballing staff.

“It was really nice and not something that I'd done before,” he said. “A really good idea and a good gesture from the club and nice for the players and the staff on the football side of things to see how big and powerful the operation is behind the scenes that's trying to push the club forward.

“So, lovely for everyone to be there. The weather just about held up and we managed to get the pictures done nice and dry.”

He added: “I think it's all linked. I don't think you can separate in a successful football team what's going on on the football side from what's going on on behind the scenes in all aspects.

“There's such good work going on in the ticketing and the marketing for games and the #PackOutPR campaign that's going on and that's part of the fantastic attendances we're getting that's helping us on the pitch.

“Of course, the community schemes and the Foundation work and the work they're doing with different charities, the sales team, the kits and everything all helps contribute to the feeling of positive momentum and a club that is really working very hard and pushing to move in a positive direction.

“So the photograph is just one little way of everyone being able to acknowledge and have that feeling. Of course, it doesn't win us the game on Saturday, but it contributes to the overall feeling of everyone pulling in the same direction.”

A sign of genuine collective leadership on show. Well done. Can't see Liz Truss being able to do the same !

That is approximately 157 people and as far as I can see doesn't include under 23's & under 18's players.

ITFC is now LIGHTYEARS ahead of where it was under the Evans era. The transformation in such a short space of time is truly phenomenal. If I was other clubs I'd be afraid of what we are doing here right now.

….. snd as gif Liz bloody Truss, of course she could never replicate what's going on at Ipswich…. She's a f lucking budgie !!!!
