Town Unsure of Future?
Town Unsure of Future?

A report this morning claims 21 of the 24 clubs in Division One are unsure whether they will be able to complete their fixtures this season. Town are not amongst the three clubs confident that they can make it to May.

The Observer report reveals that at a recent meeting club chairmen were asked if they could guarantee that they would complete the season. Only Portsmouth, Wolves and Norwich raised their hands.

Significantly those clubs all have sugar-daddies (or mummies) who can support them through this most difficult of seasons.

First Division clubs have been particularly hit by the collapse of ITV Digital while the imposition of the transfer window has also badly affected the financial situation.

The report seems at odds with recent statements from David Sheepshanks who told TWTD last week: "As a result of the actions we have taken over the last few weeks the situation is now under control. It's very much stabilised and the most important thing to do now is concentrate on what we do on the pitch."
