Harrop Hoping to Finally Make Blues Debut
Friday, 5th Feb 2021 18:22

Loan signing Josh Harrop is looking forward to finally making his Blues debut having returned to training earlier in the week following 10 days of self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 within days of joining Town from Preston North End.

”I’m good," the midfielder told iFollow Ipswich. "I got through the virus without many symptoms so that’s a positive. Now I just want to get back training properly and playing again.

"It was crazy with the way it happened. I was in the hotel for a week and I didn’t really come into contact with many people.

"Obviously I caught it somehow which was a little setback. I can start fresh now and I can just focus on my football.

"I was in the house for 10 days so it’s been good just to get back out training and to get the body moving. It’s good to be back doing what I love; playing football.

"My body feels alright as of now. My breathing and everything has been fine. I’ve had a few sessions under my belt so it would be good if I could get involved at the weekend.”

First-team coach Matt Gill suggested at this morning’s press conference that Harrop might not yet be ready for a start, so the 25-year-old seems set to be on the bench when the Blues line up against Blackpool at Portman Road tomorrow.

Sit him on the bench---no change there then!!

Start with him and when we are 3 up he can have a rest.

For heavens sake let's throw caution to the wind ; we need to take chances in everything we do now !
If he fits in to the pattern if play , can cohesively link in with his colleagues , then start him off ,take him off later if needs be , BUT just what have we to lose by emphasising the positives ?
As a supporter ( now from a distance ,sadly) I'm totally fed up with the inexplicable , the unimaginative , the uninventive and the backward looking approach !
We presumably acquired these players to actually play ; so if they aren't fit ,then why are they here ? If they don't fit ,why are they here ? If they understand how to play, how to contribute , want to do so etc etc , get them into the squad ,onto the pitch and giving us all some encouragement !
It is very much overdue, and one wonders whether our esteemed leader , who does not read or hear anything , understands anything : increasingly he looks isolated from reality , laid low perhaps by the virus ,but regrettably more than unconvincing in all he does and says !
We need relief ,almost resuscitation ,where is the medicine chest and will it be opened ?
COYB
PS PL really needs to explain why he can't apparently stomach our man at interview ,and why reconciliation cannot be effected ; reflects very poorly on PL and his character ! High time anyway that L O'N and ME stepped in and insisted this tawdry disagreement was settled and resolved !

How can you make a case to start him when the manager believes that last week's performance was so good..... same 11 then?!

Am sure ask fans would agree...... NOT!

Should start without a doubt.
The business end of the season is starting, no time to be cautious, lets just 'go for it' and see where it takes us...you never know !!!
Lets not wait until it is too late and then try it
Please !!!

Please, please, please show some ambition and creativity. Start with a flat back nine. Then we can pass the ball round at the back and everybody gets a touch. It's only fair. And to show our attacking intent, the extra man can be a sweeper.

He's reputed to be a free kick specialist and we haven't had anyone like that for far too long. For that alone it would be worth giving him at least 45 minutes.

Having watched a few minutes of Lincoln last night it just shows how far the coaching management have allowed standards at Town to fall, not fit for purpose comes to mind

Take the gamble and give him a start ! Even if he only lasts 30 minutes, it could be enough to get us off to a positive start and set a good tone for the whole match.
We've got the extra subs !
He'll probably get the final 10 minutes to scrape us a late equaliser.
Our club is in such a deep rut !

johnwarksshorts, 4-4-2! Are you mad man?!!
Seriously tho, that looks like a good line up. Of course, it won't be, you left out Chambers and Judge.
