Town Linked With Ross County Defender
Tuesday, 24th Dec 2019 10:31

Town and Rotherham United are reported to be showing interest in Ross County central defender Tom Grivosti, who is about to enter the final six months of his contract with the Scottish Premiership side.

According to the Daily Record, the Staggies are to begin talks regarding new terms with the 20-year-old but with the Blues and Millers among several English clubs eyeing his situation.

Liverpool-born Grivosti, who is currently sidelined with a foot injury, started his career with the Bolton Wanderers academy before moving on to his current club where he broke into the first team last season during their Scottish Championship title campaign. Grivosti has now made 23 senior starts and six sub appearances, scoring once.

Town making a move for another centre-half in January would be a surprise unless one of the four current senior central defenders were to depart.

Steve - I suspect that it will be Toto and/or Chambo that move on at the end of the season or January if an acceptable bid is received for either of them.
Looking ahead I think that the re-acquisition of Tommy Smith would be a smart move if he is fit. That would give us him, Woolfie and Wilson looking ahead with one other left-sided cb to be acquired as back-up for Tommy.

I hope you are right, Kiwi. For me, Woolfenden is already the class act in our back line, with plenty more potential. We might (probably will) be forced to sell at some point, but I hope he can at least get us back up before that happens - and increase his value at the same time.

Just bring back Daryl Murphy for goodness sake, he's would be the best striker option for us at the moment, he's god at holdup and layoff play ideal for Jackson and Norwood, but do not let Woolfenden go FFS he's our future, let Toto, and a few others go, but not our good players,
