Leasing.com Trophy Potential Opponents Down to Four

Town will be in Southern Section Draw B for Saturday’s second-round Leasing.com Trophy draw.

The Blues, who as runners-up in their group will definitely be away, will be ball nine and paired with one of Exeter City, Bristol Rovers, the MK Dons or Peterborough United.

The draw for the second round will take place live on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday at 2pm with former Colchester striker Clinton Morrison and ex-England midfielder Sue Smith in charge of picking the balls from the bowl. Second round ties will take place in the first week of December.

In yet another sign of what a phenomenal joke this formerly credible competition has become I note the disclaimer: "Manchester City and Manchester United have received dispensation to play any fixture in the knockout stages away from home". So what happens if they get drawn against each other (in a later round as it seems they will be apart this one)? Play at Bury? Hell - maybe we can get some extra revenue at Portman Road.

@chateauwines - I think missing anything in this competition is fine to maintain you 'did every game' this season (unless you mean you're also doing all our U23 and U18 fixtures in which case you ought to be manager over Lambert!)

Absolutely guarantee its Posh. Just like we knew the FA cup would be Lincoln or Stevenage, it will be Posh.
