Vincent-Young Hoping to Return Against Blackpool
Thursday, 14th Nov 2019 14:06

Right-back Kane Vincent-Young says he’s hopeful he'll be fit enough to return to action when the Blues take on Blackpool in their next League One game at Portman Road a week on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who joined Town for £500,000 from Colchester in August, underwent surgery on his groin in Doha, Qatar a fortnight ago.

“The groin was bothering me so the medical team said surgery was the best way forward,” he told the club site.

“Everything is going well now and hopefully I’ll be back fit and ready for the Blackpool game.”

The Londoner initially felt the injury at Fleetwood when he was forced off at half-time and missed the following League One match at Accrington.

Having returned to action in the home defeat to Rotherham, he suffered a recurrence in the win at Southend when he was subbed in the second half and missed the trip to Rochdale.

Speaking about Vincent-Young after the 1-0 Leasing.com Trophy defeat to his old club on Tuesday, manager Paul Lambert said: “He’s doing really well, Kane at the moment. We’ll see how he progresses through the next week or so.

“Lads will play in the FA Cup, then we’ve got the Blackpool game and the Wycombe game, so we’ve got loads of games. When you carry one or two knocks, it’s impossible to rest them.”

We hope you'll be fit too! (Although Donacien did ok against Colchester, I thought.)

This is why we need to concentrate on the league and get out of the cups these Cup competitions can give us unwanted injuries

No brainer....6 points the goal, but beating Wycombe could put daylight between us and the pack, so am sure that game will be prioritized.

Therefore KVY will be on bench for Blackpool and start for Wycombe. Obvs.

Any sign of Teddy Bishop? (Remember him?)

Need KVY back for his forward ability probably our most dangerous threat. Georgiou needs to take a leaf out of his book and show the same sort of desire and passion he's got the ability but needs to start showing it.

Only if he's fit. We look a much better side with KVY in it, he is at this level at least, a proper WB, can attack with speed, can deliver a ball but also can defened.

Looks cultured to me but with enough steel to make him able to do the nasty stuff too.

No other real option at RB, Edwards not cut out for it, Donacian not good enough and surely to be moved on next season, Chambo no comment needed

Yes agree Edwards seems to have lost a yard of pace since his injury not really a wing back but Lambert likes him because of his work ethic. Donasien played ok against Colchester but the standard was very poor and has no attacking qualities looks a centre half to me.

Time to give this young striker a run in the squad now ? he could save us a few bob in the Jan window, and League One should be the perfect environment to build on his experience Id have thought/
