FA Cup Date and Prices Confirmed
Friday, 25th Oct 2019 16:45

Town have confirmed that the FA Cup first round tie against Lincoln City at Portman Road will take place on Saturday 9th November (KO 3pm) with tickets at reduced prices.

Adult seats for the Blues’ first game at this stage of the competition since they beat Hastings United 4-0 in 1956 are £10, 65-plus and under-23s tickets are £5 and under-19s £2.

The game, a chance for the Blues to avenge the Imps' 2016/17 third round replay victory at Sincil Bank, has not been chosen for live TV broadcast.

Town last won an FA Cup tie back in January 2010 when they beat Blackpool 2-1 in the third round at Bloomfield Road during Roy Keane’s time in charge.

Since then they have played 14 matches in the competition, four draws and 10 defeats.

Last season they were beaten 1-0 by last Sunday’s opponents Accrington Stanley at the Crown Ground.

Thought that they may have made it free to ST holders to make up for not having a home game to Bury this season...

Bluearmy81, I never realised it was Evans who chose to play weaker sides in the FA Cup, cheers for bringing this to our attention.

Only a tenner or less for poster no 2 to support the club he/she clearly is not in love with.

Reasonable price can't argue with that. Opposition not very attractive but I will be there.

@buggs makes a very good point though, we purchased season tickets on the basis of 23 games and the marketing would have told us how much that this works out per game.

The gates are significantly higher, many fans are putting their hands in their pockets to support the team away from home.

Unlike practically every other team in recent seasons we haven't been given the opportunity to witness a summer pre-season friendly at home because of a big money spinning concert and then a tight deadline for pitch renovation and preparation for the new season.

I think it would be the minimum gesture to the best fans in the league if they think we make a difference to offer a free match in one of the cup competitions. Having said that I suspect half the gate money goes to Lincoln so it may have been more appropriate to give a free match for the EFL trophy unless there are similar rules to FA cup in terms of sharing hate receipts

Gate money distributes Third to Ipswich, Third to Lincoln and a Third to the poor old FA. We would not like to see them suffer now would we ??

....don't think we would allow it to be free as lincoln are entitled to a proportion of gate money , otherwise in previous seasons we could have filled ground with school kids etc
Hapoy to be told that this is wrong , #education and all that
