Sunday, 20th Oct 2019 11:34

Town are without Flynn Downes, James Norwood, Kane Vincent-Young and James Wilson for this afternoon’s live Sky game at Accrington Stanley (KO noon).

Downes suffered a hip injury while away with England’s U20s, Norwood underwent groin surgery early last week, Vincent-Young suffered a groin problem at Fleetwood a fortnight ago, while Wilson is suspended for one game after his red card at Highbury.

One-time Stanley centre-half Toto Nsiala comes into the back three for the first time this season, Gwion Edwards is at right wing-back, Andre Dozzell is in midfield and Alan Judge will play off lone striker Kayden Jackson, who is facing his old club.

The Blues’ third ex-Accrington man Janoi Donacien is among the subs, as are Will Keane, Emyr Huws and Armando Dobra.

Accrington: Evtimov, Johnson, Hughes, Sykes, Clark, Finley, Zanzala, McConville, Bishop, Conneely, Opoku. Subs: Bursik, Edwards, Kaba Sharif, Pritchard, Carvahlo, Charles, Alese.

Town: Holy, Woolfenden, Chambers, Nsiala, Edwards, Skuse, Dozzell, Nolan, Garbutt, Judge, Jackson. Subs: Norris, Donacien, Rowe, Dobra, Georgiou, Huws, Keane. Referee: Sebastian Stockbridge (Tyne and Wear).

Good to see Dobra on nthe bench , would have thought this would have been an ideal opportunity for Huw's to start ?

Little worried that so many key players missing. Leading contenders for player of the season so far all out show how important squad depth is

Don't let Nsiala back on the bus......let stanley have him back! Was worried when I saw who was missing from the starting line up, rightly so it seems!

Bound to miss Vincent-Young, Downes & Norwood, but that was shocking. Can't even do the basics. Nsiala is a liability.

Was concerned watching Nsiala for our U23s. Not sure who else was watching same bloke. He needs to wake up to reality and go back to basics. Time for true character and get something out of this game. Even if it's a lesson, we are showing league 1 we are not fantastic yet
