Judge Could Start for Ireland
Tuesday, 15th Oct 2019 10:36

Town midfielder could start for the Republic of Ireland when they face Switzerland in a Euro 2020 qualifier in Geneva this evening (Sky Sports Main Event from 7.30pm).

According to speculation in the Irish media, former Blues boss Mick McCarthy could field Judge in a role behind Brighton’s Aaron Connolly, who would be making his first senior start.

If he is involved Judge, an unused sub in the drab 0-0 draw in Georgia on Saturday, will win his ninth cap and will be looking for his second international goal.

Meanwhile, Blues striker Aaron Drinan could win his sixth Irish U21s cap when they take on Iceland in a European Championships qualifier in Reykjavik this afternoon.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan with Swedish second-tier side GAIS for whom he has made five starts and one sub appearance without scoring.

So Denmark have scored 10 more goals than Mighty Mick's Ireland and yet they are only 2nd as it stands! The luck of the Irish!

Hope Ireland get their usual draw as it will send Denmark through to the finals ( matches in Copenhagen ). Think Switzerland will nail it though.
