Ipswich Town Women’s rearranged second qualifying round Women’s FA Cup tie against Royston Town on Sunday afternoon will now be played at Playford Road with the kick-off at 2.15pm.

The tie, which was initially scheduled for last Sunday but succumbed to the heavy rain, had been due to be played at the Goldstar Ground, Felixstowe at 2pm.

Gates at Playford Road open from 1.45pm with entry free for all supporters.

Speaking ahead of last week’s ultimately doomed staging of the tie, manager Joe Sheehan said: “It’s a competition we want to do as well as we can in.

“We think we can win a couple of games to progress us into the latter stages for us.

“And it will be a good experience for us all to hopefully play against some teams we’re not used to playing against.

“Hopefully we can reach stages where we can start to benefit financially. That will really help us with our programme and the football club itself.”
