Przybek Wins First Wales U21s Cap
Friday, 11th Oct 2019 17:34

Town keeper Adam Przybek won his first Wales U21s cap as a late addition to the team but couldn’t prevent his side from losing 3-1 to Moldova in a European Championships qualifier in Orhei this afternoon.

Przybek had been set to sit on the bench until first-choice George Ratcliffe, currently on loan with Barry Town from Cardiff City, suffered a knock in the warm-up.

Wales took the lead in the first half via Nathan Broadhead, who is on loan at Burton Albion from Everton, but Alexandr Belousov hit back twice for the home side either side of the break, the second from the penalty spot. Despite being reduced to 10 men soon after their second goal the Moldovans hung on for victory.

The Wales U21 side also included Brennan Johnson, the son of 1990s Blues striker David.

Przybek, 19, who joined Town in the summer after leaving West Brom following a trial at the end of last season, has previously won Welsh caps at U17 and U19 level, having played for England’s U16s.
