Thursday, 29th Aug 2019 16:23

Boss Paul Lambert’s pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's home game against Shrewsbury Town will be shown live on TWTV from 9am on Friday morning.

The table-topping Blues face the Shrews, who are ninth, looking to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign and make it three wins in three games for the first time since the opening month of 2017/18.

This will not be an easy game. Looking at their performances n stats......they allow the opposition plenty of possession and shots from outside of the box..... but very little else.

They had 3 shots(1 on target) at home to Pompey yet won 1-0. As obvious a statement as it may be but we simply cant afford to gift them a goal with a comedy defensive error (see most of last season and one game this season for examples).

At the other end, Ive been pleasantly surprised by Kayden (bravo!) and really pleased with Norwood but both(particularly the latter) will need to be more clinical, chances may be at a premium.

If they intend on playing with 3 cbs then perhaps a starting berth for the talented lad on loan to exploit the space.

Again, a really winnable game....but it has to be fought for and won. Lets create a fantastic atmosphere for the lads to try n bag us another 3 points. Come on you blues!

4231 formation for me tomorrow, if they play their usual 352. 442 just simply plays into their hands. I know that we are ‘the better team' and I'm an advocate of ‘let them worry about us' but giving them an extra man in midfield all but nullifies our advantage. 4231 also is not (if played correctly) playing one up front as Norwood should always have people around him and the wide forwards also stretch the 3 CBs creating channels to exploit.

Where da fook is the coverage? They're tweeting PL's comments.
Pitiful amateurish coverage - it's like we're a 3rd division side.........
