Georgiou: Fans Were a Factor
Monday, 19th Aug 2019 16:43

New loan signing Anthony Georgiou is happy to be joining the club and says the support at Peterborough on Saturday was a factor in him deciding to moved to the Blues from parent club Tottenham until January.

Cyprus international Georgiou, 22, was at London Road on Saturday to watch his new team-mates in action before joining them for training this morning.

"I'm very happy with how things have turned out and I'm really excited to be here," he told iFollow Ipswich.

"I know how big this club is and what the aims are for the season. I was at the game on Saturday against Peterborough and was impressed with the support from the away fans.

"That was definitely a factor in me coming here. The atmosphere was brilliant and it made me want to play in those games and do my bit for the team going forward.

"I'm hoping to be involved tomorrow night because I'm ready to go and can't wait to get started.”

Georgiou is expected to be available for tomorrow’s home game against AFC Wimbledon at Portman Road.

And to think some fans were critical of Blue Action and us in the north stand "celebrating" relegation.

Keep the support going boys....Makes a difference to the team on the pitch without a doubt.

Make away days like home games.

Assume he can't play in the Leasing.com trophy against them then?

Good to see you here Anthony, and you've just joined a club that have been champions of England more recently that Tottenham.

Yes souperjim. The rose tinted glasses wearing happy clappers are a strange bunch.
The original numbskulls.

Heard Bolton's game with Doncaster cancelled due to losing effect on Wanderers young players. Surely that's where a coach does his job with encouragement. Sure our decent away support will continue. I enjoyed it at Posh even though we were lucky to get a point

73 Three sentences which sum up what is wrong with most of your posts. Negative and offensive.

I would like to support my team in the hope that good things are going to happen, if that makes me a happy clapper then so be it.

Without wishing to drop to your level, I would suggest that the last sentence applies most of all to you

The way most on here aren't able to separate and differentiate between the team and the running of the club is staggering. A fan can support with team and want them to do well without supporting the ownership and his approach which has clearly been an abject failure.

Sounds like Lambert wrote his interview for him!!

Nah BlueArmy81, you don't mind it when Town suffer as it helps your narrative about bad owner.

You should go to a game one day, see if you enjoy it!

The joy bluearmy_81 showed in the chatroom on Saturday when Ipswich went behind was palpable, when they equalised I saw no new comments from, him although to be fair I was out with mates so only sneaked quick looks at the content.

Souper Jim, there is nothing to celebrate about relegation. When are some of you going to get real?!

Don't get to go to many games, as I live in the midlands, but made it on Saturday. When Chambers' header hit the net, it was great. My ten-year old daughter had tears in her eyes and was, probably for the first time in her life, experiencing what it really means to support a team (most of the games I've taken her to haven't been the best).

Celebrating relegation? Of course not. We were celebrating a last minute equaliser.

Well done town fans, I was proud to be a Blue on Saturday.

For those that didn't agree with the Souper Jim post the hint is in the Blue Action inspired song , we SUPPORT the Ipswich ect , but the way that most have got behind the team at the end of last season and so far this season must be a big plus and must continue it is the only way this club can be successful .
