Town's Judge Price Tag Too High for QPR?
Friday, 26th Jul 2019 11:22

Town are reported to have put a £750,000 price tag on midfielder Alan Judge, leading to speculation that it could end QPR’s pursuit of the 30-year-old.

According to Sky Sports, the Blues have told the West Londoners, who have made bids of £250,000 and £450,000, that £750,000 is the Republic of Ireland international’s price, which they suggest may end their interest in the former Brentford man.

Judge’s former Bees’ boss Mark Warburton is keen to bring the midfielder, pictured above at yesterday's Open Day with Emyr Huws, to Loftus Road, while the player has told Blues manager Paul Lambert that he would be interested in the switch.

Speaking yesterday, Lambert said nothing would happen unless Town were offered an acceptable fee for Judge, who signed a new two-year deal in April.

“I think the offer that’s been made is nowhere near what [owner] Marcus [Evans] is looking for so there’s not any real great news on that side of it. The ball is in QPR's court really,” he said.

“Marcus knows what I think with the whole scenario and it’s up to QPR to come up with the money that Marcus thinks is acceptable.”

QPR have recently received transfer fees of £4.9 million for Luke Freeman, from Sheffield United, and £1.5 million for Darnell Furlong, from West Brom, however, their financial situation continues to be affected by January’s £42 million settlement of their FFP breach.

This is starting top really PI$$ me off now , if we dont want to sell him then put 5mill on him, but the truth is Evans doesn't care and rather than scaring off potential pennies he will put a very doable price on him!!

He is a good footballer , from a club that should be in the Champ and will be again, on a brand spanky new 2 year contract if we dont want to sell then properly price them out!!!!!

Were such a pu$$y team to do business with it really winds me up!!

COME ON TOWN MAN UP!!!!!

Should be 1.5 million for several reasons.
1. He's worth that in todays market.
2. £750k is too close for comfort an amount considering the last bid QPR made & the money they've got spare from sales so doesn't deter them much if they really want him.
3. Finding anyone with his abilities and what he brings to the team, especially this late in the day will cost us that much.
4. Most importantly, it sends a message to Judge that we think he's worth far more to us than QPR think he is worth to them. Self worth, mental attitude & commitment to us increases.

750k for an international player 😳

Like I said previous, in this crazy market he can't go for less than £2.5 million it would be disastrous and who the hell are we gonna buy to replace him with that money? That's if Evans is even going to reinvest,

what started for me as a strangely positive start (after what was the worst season in ITFC history) with securing judge and then landing Norwood, now with all the injuries and lack of new faces into Portman road to have time to gel and bed into the team I really fear we are going to struggle this season 😔

Evans you got us into this position with over 10 years of poor decisions it's now time for you to learn from your mistakes and invest back into this squad, us fans aren't expecting you to throw million and millions into the squad but we are expecting more than what you are doing right now.

Falling into league 1 and The 9 million downfall in revenue is your doing
It's down to you to cough up and get us out of this mess

Too cheap.

Also, what was it PL said regarding Bart?

“You have to, the club pays your wages,” he continued. “This is your club, this is your job, the club pays your wages.

“If things don't happen for you you get on with it. There's no point in thinking about what could have been. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. If it happens, it happens, the club moves on.

“The club's bigger than any player, any individual. The supporters are the major factor at a football club, the club will always be here long after everybody else has gone.”

I'm sure Judge will be under no impression that this doesn't apply to him also

Stupid move if we have put a price we would accept on him because I can see more than one Championship club being interested.

At that price he would be worth a punt from quite a few!

Too low......Evans fire sale? Of course, paper talk, QPR mind games etc - if it does not happen AJ will just have to get his head sown and give his best......"You can't always get what you want' (great song)

Michael101 is right, when has transfer money been re-invested in players? So therefore the price doesn't matter, having said that the attitude of the player does, he needs to want to be at Town and playing for us giving 110% if not we may as well let him go. He has gone down in my estimation no end after we dug him out of his previous situation.
