Lambert: Judge Has Indicated He'd Like the Opportunity
Tuesday, 23rd Jul 2019 22:43 by Darren Campbell

Blues manager Paul Lambert confirmed that midfielder Alan Judge has indicated that he wants to join QPR, who have made two bids for the Republic of Ireland international.

The West Londoners, who are managed by Judge’s former Brentford boss Mark Warburton, have had offers of £250,000 and £450,000 rebuffed by the Blues.

“Judge has spoken to me and I think he would like to go, it's his prerogative to say what he wants to do,” Lambert said.

“I don't know, I'm not sure with it. He's spoken to me and I guess it's over to Judgey and see what he wants to do and if he just let us know one way or another but I think he wants to. I really don't know at this minute.”

QPR have until the Championship transfer window closes on August 8th to continue their pursuit of 30-year-old Judge, who only signed a new two-year deal with the Blues in April.

Lambert has previously described the Dubliner as a key man and he says he will be an important player if he remains at Portman Road after the deadline.

“He has to be, there's no two ways,” the Town manager added. “If you're here, you have to play your absolute heart for the club, we have a big fan base behind us.

“But I think he's got to be clear in his own head. I think at the minute he's up and down with it. He's done well for us last season. I've had chats with him and he's indicated that he'd like the opportunity.”

What opportunity? The opportunity to get relegated from the Championship two seasons on the bounce perhaps?

Modern day football - where you can sign a contract in April and ask to leave 3 months later.

It makes you wonder why you bother..

Devestating, but a player that doesn't want to play for my club is free to leave.

Bye.

Thought he was a better person than that obviously used us to get a secure deal as was worried wouldn't get anywhere else.
Warburton will no doubt be gone by Christmas knowing QPR

I have no words. Don't care if we give him away now. What is the point of any player signing a contract.....ever??!!

We need to stop giving into player power and just taking whatever offers we can get. QPR have sold Luke Freeman for £5m and Darnell Furlong for £1.5m in the last couple of weeks so if they want him, they can pay his value or do one! Time to show clubs that we won't be taken for mugs and Judge should honour his contract if they don't pay up.

He wanted to play for us in April, bloody mercinary, just crawl out of Portman road with a £1m price tag hanging round his neck and a sold sticker on his bum.

You kinda can't blame the guy for wanting to better his overall situation. Still can't help feeling pi##ed that he's doing it now; just days before the start of the new campaign.

Likewise Foreverbluesince1996 I thought with judge signing and committing to the Town that he was going to return the favour that we gave him to get regular football and an opportunity. Looks like he is going to go with money and less travel and then get a second relegation with QPR

If he goes for less than 2.5 million in what is a crazy market then something is drastically wrong behind the scenes at Portman road

The only way Evans can please us fans is to get a good deal done for a player that wants out and reinvest the fee into our desperately thin squad

Hold out for as much money as we can get for him. He clearly wants away so let him go.
I personally don't want him staying as I only want to see players with us who really want to be with us. The only down side is that he will be very difficult to replace at an affordable price.

I should have added, Judge May find it difficult working under Warburton again. It doesn't often work out by either returning to a previous club or as in this case a previous manager.
Not sure how good Warburton is as a manager these days either although to be fair to him he makes a cracking loaf of bread.

Off you go then. Sorry, but I don't care how highly rated by some fans he is but it's about the badge on the front not the name on the back. Don't let the door hit your @rse on the way out.

let him go for what we have paid him during his spell with the club. He is sloppy and inconsistent , he is too short and we really won't miss him . I

If this is all true, the bloke is a quant. We gave him regular 1st team football to get over his fear of injury reoccurrence, back into international squad.
Makes me sad of modern day footy, you go mate, personally hope you get crocked again.

Yes harsh, but you've shown ITFC no respect .... bye!!

... oh, and thanks for all your goals and set plays, eg corners and freekicks that led to significant victories.....errrr yeah, hang on NONE last season, you owe us BIG time.

That it... GRRRRR!

Probably puts me in a group of one but genuinely not bothered. Over hyped in my opinion. How many games has he bossed it since he arrived ? In truth was given too much freedom much of the time and left us out of shape when he deserted his flank going on a free role.
