Holy Starts Against Paderborn as Kick-Off Delayed
Saturday, 6th Jul 2019 14:09

New goalkeeper Tomas Holy starts his first game for the Blues as Town get pre-season underway against Bundesliga new boys SC Paderborn with the game delayed until a 3.15pm kick-off (local time, 2.15pm UK).

The Blues arrived around 2.20pm following a three-hour trip from their training base close to the Dutch border.

Manager Paul Lambert plans to field a different team in each half, both a mix of young players and experience with nothing to be read into them.

Among the inexperienced players in the XI before the break is attacking midfielder Armando Dobra. The 18-year-old Albanian U19 international will be getting his first taste of international football.

James Norwood, Alan Judge, Gwion Edwards were all in the stands with the injured Freddie Sears with none of them in action today.

SC Paderborn first half: Ratajczak, Hünemeier, Drinkuth, Strohdiek, Gjasula, Pröger, Schwede, Gueye, Mamba, Holtmann, Vasiliadis.

Town first half: Holy, Emmanuel, Nsiala, Woolfenden, Kenlock, Skuse, Dobra, Bishop, Lankester, Dozzell, Roberts.

Couldn't care less about the result so long as no one gets injured!

If we can have a season minus all the injuries we had last year then we just might get where we want to be!

You've got to care for result after last season. It wasn't a blip. Preseason does matter, don't care what the PR savvy say
