Academy striker Zak Brown has signed his first professional deal with the Blues.

The 17-year-old Felixstowe-born frontman has penned a two-year contract with the club having an option for a further season.

Brown, the younger brother of former Blues academy striker Charlie, who moved to Chelsea in 2016, joined Town as an U13 and featured regularly for the U18s last season while also breaking into the U23s.

A second-year scholar in the season ahead, Brown has been capped by England at U15 and U16 levels.

DifferentGravy added 19:05 - Jul 2 Seen the amounts being tendered for the services of players in the latest transfer windows (example being Harry Mcguire for 70 million) and the most ludicrous prices are normally reserved for strikers. Yet, I struggle to think of more than a few European strikers that make a consistent impact. It leaves the door wide open for an attacking talent to shine......and who knows Zak......at 17 years old.....it could just be you. The very best of luck!

Shame the older brother got lured by the big signing on fees at Chelsea - I guess you cant blame him though as thats teh way the games gone unfortunately. Years ago Sir Bobby managed to get Beattie from under Liverpools nose - these days we woldnt be able to hold onto ALL of our best youngsters. Ben Knight to Man City another prime example.
