TWTD understands young former West Brom keeper Adam Przybek is at Town today to undergo a medical and complete a move to the Blues having impressed on trial earlier this year.

Przybek came through the academy ranks at the Hawthorns before being released this summer without having broken into their first-team squad. Last season he made 22 appearances for the Baggies’ U18s without featuring for their U23s.

The 19-year-old spent time on loan with Gloucester City and Rushall Olympic last season prior to a spell on trial with the Blues in February in which he featured in the 4-3 U23s defeat at Crystal Palace and evidently caught the eye of manager Paul Lambert and goalkeeper-coach Jimmy Walker.

English-born Przybek has won U16s caps with England and has played at U17 and U19 levels with Wales. He also qualifies to play international football for Poland.

Przybek, who was on loan at Worcester City in 2017/18, is likely to be viewed as an U23s keeper next season and his addition may allow the Blues to send Harry Wright, 20, out on loan to gain first-team experience elsewhere during 2019/20.

Town have already signed Tomas Holy to replace the released Dean Gerken this summer, while it appears certain another senior keeper would be targeted if Bartosz Bialkowski, who is interesting Birmingham City and other Championship clubs, were to move on.

According to a report in the Midlands this morning, Town and Championship sides Charlton and Hull City are all understood to be eyeing Bolton Wanderers keeper Remi Matthews.

Matthews, 25, is from Gorleston and started his career at Norwich City - where he will have been coached by Town first-team coach Matt Gill - during which time he spent spells on loan at Burton Albion, Doncaster Rovers, Hamilton Academical, Plymouth Argyle and Bolton.

The 6ft ½in tall keeper made his switch to the Trotters permanent in January, signing a contract which runs to next summer. However, with Bolton in administration, Matthews could well be allowed to move on for free during the close season.

Given his circumstances, it would be a surprise if Town haven’t explored the possibility of Matthews being a target if Bialkowski were to move on having spoken to a number of keepers including Christy Pym, who recently joined Peterborough from Exeter, and QPR's Matt Ingram since the end of the season as well as former Gillingham man Holy, whose signing was confirmed last month.

Przybek will become Town’s second new recruit of the summer with striker James Norwood’s long all-but-done free move from Tranmere expected to be confirmed next week.

The 28-year-old, who is currently away on a family holiday, is set to sign a three-year deal with an option for a further season.

LondonBlue73 added 11:06 - Jun 5 I have read many of the comments above - especially from and relating to Bluearmy81 posts with a mixture of finding them amusing and equally being concerned by the thought process of some fellow fans. My view for what it is worth is in my opinion one or realism tinged with a huge dollop of unjustified optimism as is always the case at the beginning of the season. My optimistic view point, is that things can only get better, we have a manager that has. track record in this league in similar circumstances, we have youth players coming through, some players that are proven at this level and a reconnect starting with the club. We have a stadium and support that may help and in my opinion are in a better position than say Sunderland were a year ago and they made a good fist of it. I also believe we have an owner who would not be my choice - appears to be learning and we have to trust in him as a business man to right the previous wrongs. The realistic side of me thinks it will be harder than we believe, teams will be up for it against us and players will maybe take time to adjust and we do need some new players. What I cannot understand though is negative comments for the sake of it - Norwood is not messing around - he always said if your read previous articles he would be away with Tranmere and then with family and would sort his contract out on his return - next week. The same people accused Hurst last year of stalling but he came (though I wish he hadn't). We may struggle, we may succeed and whatever I will support my team, my club and will get behind them on match days. Supporting our club runs deeper than success on the pitch - there will be dark days that are relative to each clubs history. Look at Man City who still got 30,000 in league one - where Portsmouth, Leeds, Charlton, Sheffield Utd, Sheff Wednesday, Norwich and many more have been - what divine right do we have to not have that same journey - Premiership to League One is not that uniques aside from some of the big, big clubs. We can bounce back and will be the happiest man in the world, but supporting ITFC for me will happen no matter what even if that is League 2 and gives me further ruined summers.

All of that taken into consideration I will always remain a supporter. I can't help but think there are a few posters on here who would be better suited to one of the top 6 in the prem?!

I have lived in Liverpool for 25 years but have never once thought of switching my allegiance, not even for a second!! I just want the best for ITFC, that's all, same as you. I find our current state pitiful. I know other bigger clubs have been in league one in recent years but I have no faith in our owner to get us back to the championship let alone the prem, all he has proved to be is a massive failure. How will you feel if we are still in league one or two in 5-10 years, will you still be happy clapping? Maybe some of you are ok with that prospect but I don't think that makes you a better fan than me, on the contrary your apathy and lack of passion that demands better for ITFC speaks volumes.

So many complainers yet not one single suggestion from anyone?

I have a question for you, if he's losing so much a year why is he still here? Why doesn't he take the hit and sell the club for a cut price song? Extraordinary to think that an adult is that naive, but for the record, yes indeed you can offset losses in terms of the amount of taxation you pay but never can a loss be profitable, just simple maths.

Please give me the reason you still think he is here, you accept he is losing money so what are the reasons?
