Drinan Wins Cap in Irish U21s Victory

Blues striker Aaron Drinan won his second Republic of Ireland U21s cap as a late sub as his side beat China 4-1 in their opening game at the Maurice Revello Toulon Tournament.

Drinan, who is currently on loan back at his former club Waterford, was introduced from the bench in the 81st minute with the game’s goals already having been scored.

The 21-year-old, who has scored seven times in the League of Ireland with the season running through the summer, is contracted to Town until the summer of 2021.

Ireland face Mexico in their second group game on Thursday and then Bahrain on Sunday.
