El Mizouni in Full Tunisia Squad
Friday, 24th May 2019 12:09

Blues youngster Idris El Mizouni has been named in Tunisia’s full squad for their home friendly against Iraq in Rades on Friday 7th June, we understand.

It’s the 18-year-old academy product’s first call into the senior squad having previously won two caps for their U23s Olympic side, scoring once.

Midfielder El Mizouni, who was born in France but qualifies for Tunisia via his father, enjoyed an impressive 2018/19 progressing from the U18s into the U23s and then into the first team, making one start and three sub appearances.

If he plays against the Iraqis El Mizouni will become the first Town player to have won a cap for Tunisia.

Well done Idris.

I actually think he will end up being a standout player next season. Just seems to be one of those who develops really quickly in a short space of time.

Lankester likewise, so may be tricky fitting them both in with Judge and the rest, but if he gets a few games I fancy that he will really step to being a good League 1 player at least.

Not the boldest prediction ever for a player about to potentially win a cap for a half decent national team at only 18, admittedly.

Rooney made his England debut at just 17. If you're good enough you're old enough. Luckily for Fergie he played no heed to Alan Hansen's infamous "you'll never win anything with kids" prediction!
El Mizouni is the Ipswich Rooney!

He's a good prospect and will be better for experience.

Hope all our younger players improve to get games in league1 next season. If tutored well and they install mental strength, no reason it shouldn't happen
