Derby Down Under Moves to Brisbane
Thursday, 16th May 2019 13:55

The 2019/20 Derby Down Under will be played in Brisbane for the first time in September and the Australasian Branch of the Town Supporters Club are looking for players and supporters.

The Derby Down Under’s first five stagings have all taken place in Sydney with Town winning the first four before deadly rivals Canaries Down Under recorded their first victory last September to add further misery to an already depressing campaign.

“I think we'd all agree that it’s been a season to forget,” chairman Ed Parker told TWTD reflecting on 2018/19.

“To make things worse we even lost the Derby Down Under for the first time, going down 3-2. However, there is an opportunity to restore Blue pride at the next Derby Down Under.

“For the next match we are having a change of scenery and moving to Brisbane.

“The game will be held on Saturday 7th September, kick-off 1pm. A few of us are flying in for the game, however, we are looking for more players.”

If you’re interested in taking part, email Ed via edontheroadagain@hotmail.com or take a look at the Branch’s Facebook page.

“It should be a fun weekend,” Ed added. “So jump on board and let’s win our trophy back!”

It's practically a home game for the Ipswich team then.
