Knudsen in Denmark Squad
Thursday, 9th May 2019 15:40

Set-to-depart Blues defender Jonas Knudsen has been named in a 40-man provisional Denmark squad for their European Championship qualifiers in June.

Knudsen will hope to make the final 23, which will be named on May 22nd, for the games against Alan Judge's Republic of Ireland in Copenhagen on Friday 7th June and Georgia three days later, also in the Danish capital.

The 26-year-old, who will leave Town when his contract is up at the end of next month, has previously won six full caps.

Good for you jonas. Please sign next season, we need you. One of the best defenders in the league, always under rated by fickle ITFC “fans”

@ohmycampo - didn't you only yesterday post the following?

--------------------------------------
"Ahhhh. About time this happened.
For me- out would be;
Gerken
Chambers
Knudsen
Skuse
Sears
Downes
Bishop

All been here too long and done nowt. Time to move on"

Are you trolling, bad memory or just a fickle fan?

I included him in that list because he wants to leave, however, I wish he would stay

This news story is a not relevant to us.

He's gone, not our player.

Pity he's not staying on : the tentative replacements, including home grown products ,aren't yet ready for the task with lots of improvement needed !

It's bizarre that the Danes don't have anyone better than someone who hasn't even played in the last few months.

Not one of us, hasn't wanted to be here for a while now so couldn't care. Might as well added that McGoldrick has been called up for Ireland.

Turned his back on the club making it very clear he wanted to go. Club happy for him to move on in January, but no one wanted him. Says it all really.

Agree with ohmycampo. Was a good defender in the championship so would do a really good job in league 1. But the fact is that he doesn't want to stay so decision made. Think both our old-guard fullbacks (Knudsen and Spence) will shortly be on their way. We will have to reduce the size of our playing squad, and fast. Few surprises in store next week I'm sure.

Don´t understand the dislike from some "fans". Good bloke, always gave his all and good enough player (must say I liked him best as a central defender). it was obvious he did not appreciate McCarthy leaving or the way some supporters treated him, we are all entitled to express our own opinions.

Good luck to Jonas. Reasonable player but in my opinion not international standard but I wish him well for the rest of his career with whoever that may be.

We need back up for LB and to compete with Kenlock for the position, all be it I feel Kenlock has developed a fair bit this season, well played to him! Also Knudsen can play CB if short on options so he's a versatile player to have in that respect. If he doesn't want to stay as suggested then its important we find a replacement in that position for sure.

if knudsen doesnt want to be here thats fine by me, average at best imo. happy that we have both kenlock and emanuel as our fullbacks, but think we need competition in this area to as both are still young. In an ideal world we probably need, x2 new fullbacks, a centre back, x2 strikers and maybe a holding midfielder. however going down to league one and losing 9 million is gonna make it very difficult! and we dont even know the goalkeeper situation yet either. interesting times at town, hope paul lambert has some bargains up his sleeve as appreciate we wont be spending fortunes.

Knudsen never came back from the World Cup. The player who did back was too good for Town and his efforts were minimal at best. Taking a paycheck and not putting in a full shift is garbage and an insult to the shirt. Good riddance. Hell, even the Bart we got back was a shadow of his former self. I get the pride of playing for your country, but the club level is what puts food on your table. So many players seem to forget this.

Spot on. Both comeback billy big bollox. Had any other Club other Btmijcof I r Bart,he'd have been he. As for Knudsen, well his self proclaimed rise in stock was laughable. Not s single Club hud for I. Good riddance . He's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Judus Knudsen , could have been good for us next season but something or someone turned his head never been any where near his best this season robbed the club of his salary . Shows the strength of the Danish national side the fact that he ain't played for so long yet still gets picked
