Club Pay Tribute to Departing Kit Man Goody
Wednesday, 8th May 2019 14:50

Town have paid tribute to long-serving academy coach and kit man Ken Goody, who is retiring this summer.

Goody has been at Town for more than 30 years, latterly as academy kit man for the U23s and U18s, while also assisting with the senior side.

“Ken has been a fantastic servant to Ipswich Town and he will be missed for sure,” general manager of football operations Lee O’Neill told the cub site. “We wish him well for whatever the future brings for him.”

Goody, pictured above with O’Neill and U23s coaches Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg, joined the U23s on the pitch at half-time during Sunday’s game against Leeds to receive the trophy for finishing top of the Professional Development League Two South table.

One of the high earners, can't afford to keep him. Better to spend his wage on a striker!!😂 Seriously, thanks for your 30 years of service Ken, enjoy your well earned retirement.

Have a long and happy retirement Ken.

Now when will we learn who else from the playing squad is leaving?

@HighgateBlue - there's only one appropriate retirement destination for a kit man who used to coach inexperienced youngsters...

St Kits and Novice.

Make jim Magilton the new kit man, that way he can work his way back up to manager. We should never have sacked him, Keane has a lot to answer for, he wasn't nearly as good as jim or jewel
