Season Ticket Total Just Misses 12,000 Mark
Tuesday, 7th May 2019 15:38

Town’s season ticket total for 2019/20 had reached 11,748 by yesterday’s early bird deadline, 252 away from the 12,000 mark which would have triggered a 10 per cent price reduction.

The figure is, however, up on this year’s season ticket total of 10,200 by more than 1,500.

In addition to a 12.5 per cent price cut for most tickets, the club introduced an incentive scheme when they announced next season’s prices which would have resulted in further reductions if 12,000, 13,000 and then 14,000 seats were sold.

Around 95 per cent of season ticket holders from this campaign have renewed for 2019/20.

Owner Marcus Evans will be writing a personal letter of thanks to season ticket holders to thank them for their support.

Tickets remain on sale at Planet Blue and ITFC Direct but now at the increased post-early bird prices.

I Tried last night to purchase one, I couldn't remember my customer number, I don't know why you can't use registered email address. Said need to contact ticket office. Which were closed because of bank holiday. You would think they would extended to end of this week. I don't understand why has to go up £80. Keep it at cheap offer, more people would buy them. I won't get one at the new price.

I don't understand those moaning yet again. We missed a target - simple. I got four numbers in the lottery last month unfortunately they would not pay me the jackpot!!!!
What we should focus on is continuing to make the atmosphere as good as it has been in recent weeks - a few early season wins and we may get a full stadium. Whilst as I have said before I have opinions on the many mistakes made in recent years and everybody would do things differently, very few would put their hands in their pockets to the extent a football owner has to.
We need to unite, pray for more entertainment and everything else will fall in to place. Frustrated by our demise, sick of getting stick but with blue blood I'll always support and as businessman appreciate the difficulties.

Good on those who have renewed or signed on. No reason to give the waverers a second chance. Everyone knew what the offer was.

I auto renewed AND purchased a new ST at Planet Blue and the guy that served me was brilliant. The price I considered to be realistic and see no reason to whinge now.

C'mon ME do the right thing, this is the first year the deadline has not been extended for years.

Surely the club will recognise a tremendous response from fans despite a poor season and relegation. How about a 7.5 % reduction by way of recognition? Come on Evans, work with the fans!

im surprised that so many sold ,hopefully Evans will now give away OrdInance Survey maps so that fans can find some of the fields in which Town will be playing next season .

What is it with the people of our country now? We all knew what the deal was and those who wanted to take it up did. Much like the Brexit vote. Just because you don't like the outcome why do people want the rules changed to suit them all the time, if it doesn't go their way. When the offer was 1st announced I think most people agreed it was a fair offer.

It would be completely disingenuous of Evans not to extend the deadline, given that the supporters have proven time and time again that they do all they can in these difficult circumstances. He has historically extended it when it has suited him and the reality is that we are extremely close. And besides, we are in this position because of his consistent lack of support. Had he not disposed of McGoldrick and Waghorn, for instance, we would not be going down.

To suggest this is like Brexit is complete b*ll*x

I didn't buy the ST thinking I was going to get a discount. As the target was missed I'm not expecting any. However, simple maths would show that the club will garner more income from 11700+ sales than it would from 14000 discounted at 20%. By my calculations ME could give 5% as a goodwill gesture. Or spend it on improving the ticket ordering process.

So Evans wins again.

A fantastic effort nonetheless especially when it is cheaper to watch Premiership football up the road by a club that I am sad to say is run miles better than ours.

Good PR would be to honour the discount anyway but can you see that happenning with this owner----eerm,no.

Scuzzer for Christ sake !
So now Evans Is fiddling the season ticket figures !
And so what if the end date was a bank holiday , everyone knew the date plenty of time in advance .
Really really boring all this anti Evans s***.

Moving in the right direction at last but it's going to take a lot more most to consider renewing given the demise under Evans.

Best thing club can do is meet players wage demands for League 1 and make sure Lambert gets his targets. When that happens tickets will sell.

As it is no reason to trust anything Evans has to say, he's lost thousands of fans.

It would be a correct and well received gesture for the club to waive the difference and be generous, especially to those of us who have had season tickets for years.

A sample of selfish people on here again ( incorrectly, linking this issue with Brexit ... !! ) - I ask you ... !! ??

A no brainer is for the Club to extend the deadline until the end of this month - I've always spoke up for Evans, however, if he doesn't do this with the required limit for discount being so close - he has truly shown his card, well and truly.

It has been done before - it should be again. The 12k would undoubtedly be met by then. Wavering the difference would NOT be required by the owner.

In the meantime keep being selfish some of you, it suits you...... !!

....... anyone who would rather see less Season Tickets sold, than see the deadline extended to the end of the month, are selfish to the extreme - and will no doubt at some point in the future be calling for more people to follow, and invest in the Club.

There are many reasons why people could not meet the 'Bank Holiday' deadline, but would renew before the end of this month.

Maybe some of you do deserve what you get - being selfish is not the real ITFC Supporter way of being.

Evans should have just lowered the price and not put in conditions, that way it would be take it or leave it and everyone would no from the outset . Its just Evans being Evans, and now he can say sorry boys you came up 10p short, [something Evans is used to doing] he got the rush started getting the fans hopes up of bigger reductions, It was always going to be a hard target given the state the club is in .

blueboy1981 I fail to see why supporters that signed up for the offer on the terms advertised are called selfish by you. I've supported the Town since the 60's and had a season ticket since the late 70's. Blue, through and through. I want the best for my club. Do I agree with how it has been run since the 1st year of Evan's ownership, no I don't. Why do you call a fellow supporter who signed up for the deal and disagrees with constant rule changes that are currently being asked for in our society because they didn't like the result?

I'm still concerned about the team we will see in Aug. If it contains Gerkin as our no1 & Chambers as captain. Plus waiting for our sicknote Welsh man to return I'm glad I decided to wait & see

I'm waiting for the season to almost get under way before deciding weather to spend any more hard earned money on ITFC. After over 40 years supporting the club through thick and thin, this for me is what its come down to.
Mr Evan's, who is quite entitled to spend

his money how he wants. It seems to appear not on quality player recruitment. Along with the fact Luke Chambers is to continue playing and leading the team. Has lead me to believe maybe it's time I took his lead.

Evans. I admire your guile. However there is no reason to extend the deadline just to please fickle fans. True fans would have signed up even if you doubled prices. Remember that

Do I want to follow Town anymore with Chambo at the forefront. Most definitely no.
It will lead to more embarrassment for player, fans and club.
There will be no promotion with him leading the side.
And frankly a season of struggle in L1, has no appeal whatsoever at this moment in time. Ironically season ticket sales would have gone through the roof if LC was leaving the team.

Ohmycampo. You speak for yourself. After this season from hell. I want paying to watch our joke of a team.
