Bolton Game to Go Ahead If Staff Numbers Adequate
Wednesday, 3rd Apr 2019 18:43

Town’s game at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday reportedly will go ahead as planned following this evening’s emergency meeting of the Safety Advisory Group, as long as there are adequate staff at the University of Bolton Stadium.

As previously reported, an update is expected in the morning regarding Saturday’s match and also Bolton’s home game against Middlesbrough next Tuesday.

The fixtures were cast into doubt yesterday when the Safety Advisory Group withdrew the ground’s safety certificate with the Trotters “unable to commit to meet the obligations of its safety certificate until after a scheduled appearance at the High Court”.

This morning’s High Court hearing, relating to £1.2 million owed to HMRC and other debts, was adjourned until May 8th to allow a takeover by former Watford chairman Laurence Bassini to be completed and the debts to be paid.

Agree with the above. We already knew there was a question over staffing which prompted the potential postponement - sadly this does nothing to actually answer that question.

Please, Bolton, if you can't do it then make that decision early. Do not leave this until we're all heading up there.
