Tuesday, 5th Feb 2019 21:44

Town’s U18s progressed to the semi-finals of the Suffolk Premier Cup by beating Kirkley & Pakefield 3-1 at Walmer Road, Kian Ronan (pictured), Zak Brown (pen) and Tommy Smith the Blues’ goalscorers.

After a goalless first half, Gibraltarian U21 international Ronan opened the scoring with a low 20-yard strike.

"Brown won the penalty he subsequently converted, then left-back Tommy Smith volleyed home Town’s third.

Lee Will netted a late consolation for the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division side.

Meanwhile, academy midfielder or full-back Ryley Scott has had his loan at Bury Town extended until the end of the season and was in the team which beat Witham 5-2 at Ram Meadow this evening.

U18s: Egan, O’Reilly, T Smith, Crowe, Henderson, Vega, Z Brown, Ronan (Clifford), Simpson (Ruffles), Dobra (Baker), K Brown. Unused: Alley.

The under 23's are top of the league and the under 18s in a semi final. Just shows what a disgraceful shower the first 'team' (I use the word team loosely) are. Hang your heads.
