Drinan at Irish U21s Training Camp
Monday, 4th Feb 2019 18:15

Town striker Aaron Drinan has joined up with the Republic of Ireland U21s squad for a training camp at the FAI National Training Centre, Abbotstown.

Drinan is the only English-based player involved with the Blues having given him permission to take part.

The squad are training together before playing a game against Ireland Amateurs at Whitehall on Wednesday (KO 7.45pm).

The 20-year-old joined the Blues in January 2018 from Waterford having previously spent time with hometown club Cork City.

The striker, who is yet to win an Ireland youth cap at any level, was on the Town first-team bench on five occasions last season without making his senior Blues debut. Earlier this campaign Drinan spent time on loan at Sutton United.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old defender Corrie Ndaba, a former Republic of Ireland U18 cap, is understood to have been offered pro terms by the Blues.

The centre-half or full-back was the subject of a rebuffed loan bid from Dundee United on deadline day.

Republic of Ireland U21s: Conor Kearns (UCD), Ross Treacy (Dundalk), Andy Lyons (Bohemians), Darragh Leahy (Bohemians), Conor McCarthy (Cork City), Trevor Clarke (Shamrock Rovers), Liam Scales (UCD), Sam Todd (Finn Harps), Dan Mandriou (Bohemians), Aaron Bolger (Shamrock Rovers), Jack Keaney (Sligo Rovers), Jamie Lennon (St Patrick's Athletic), Brandon Kavanagh (Shamrock Rovers), Robbie McCourt (Bohemians), Aaron Drinan (Ipswich Town), Neil Farrugia (UCD), Michael O'Connor (Linfield), Will Fitzgerald (Limerick), Zach Elbouzedi (Waterford), Karl O'Sullivan (Limerick).
