Town Linked With Deadline Day Move for Norwich Right-Back Pinto
Thursday, 31st Jan 2019 10:03

Town are reported to be showing deadline day interest in Norwich City right-back Ivo Pinto.

According to The Sun, the Blues are keen to recruit right-back Pinto, who is out of contract in the summer and available on a free transfer now.

A deal is said to be some way off being concluded but with the player, a former Norwich skipper, believed to be interested in making the switch ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.

Pinto, 29, began his senior career in his native Portugal with Porto but never made a senior appearance for the club once managed by Sir Bobby Robson.

After spells on loan at Gil Vicente, Vitória Setúbal and Covilhã, he moved on to Rio Ave, then União Leiria, again on loan, before joining Romanian side CFR Cluj. After three years with Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia he signed for Norwich in 2016 for £2.2 million.

Having been a regular for much of his time at Carrow Road, Pinto, a former Portuguese U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 international, has made only three Championship starts this season, all in August, while also featuring in the Carabao Cup.

Blues boss Paul Lambert has previously said a right-back was among his January targets and appears the most likely deadine day addition to his squad.

Bernioblue, why would he get games at Norwich if they get promotion when he's not being played in the championship?

Clint Eastwood Spence is a very good example of why everything has gone belly up at the club, and relegation to the 3rd tier.
Just an awfull player, with zero quality. Makes Chambers look a competent right back. So that shows just how poor he is.
