Skuse Out for Two Months
Saturday, 8th Dec 2018 17:30

Blues midfielder Cole Skuse will be out for two months with the knee injury he suffered in training earlier in the week, manager Paul Lambert has confirmed.

“He’s going to be out for a couple of months,” he said at his press conference after the 2-0 defeat at Stoke, Skuse having suffered cartilage damage.

“I put Trevoh Chalobah in there, I thought he was excellent but again I think that’s another area of the pitch where we need a little help [in January].

“Kayden Jackson didn’t feel good this morning when he woke up, so it was too risky to put him in and Wardy he’s been ill most of the week. That was the reason for those two [missing out at Stoke].”

Somebody really hates us!!!!

How about this for a plan?

Bring back all the loanees that we can(believe Morris is the only one that can't).

Stick them into the squad along with whatever transfer targets Lambert can get in and field this kinda team:-

Bart or gerks(whoever is making fewer mistakes that week)

Emmanuel Pennington NEW CB Kenlock

Lankaster Dozzell Downes NEW Winger

Sears NEW Striker

SUBS : Gerks/Bart , Edwards, Wolfenden, Ward (Scuse when fit) Chambo,Trevor,Folami

what is it with people obsessessed with kenlock and emmanuel, they clearly at the moment not good enough with 2 managers putting them out to loan! thats the last thing we need! we have a side atm that lacks experienced championship players!! its the same peiple that constantly calling for sears to lead the line up top last season! i like sears but unfortunately just relying on him up top is not suprising were struggling for goals!! im all for playing the youths but if managers are not selecting them its quite clear they are not up to it!

Will be interesting to see how our defence performs over the next 2 months without him in front...

What a blow. Now the only area of the team that didn't need strengthening in January needs strengthening in January.

How opinions change on this site!

Not long ago there would have been a conga down Portman road at this news.

Now he's the best midfielder since Wark!

Will this be a case of "you don't know what you've got til it's gone?"

Agree Northstandveteran

They said he was a waste of space or was that because MM liked him and now PL likes him he the main man

It just seems that everyone is looking for a scape goat.
Knudsen and Chambers seem to be the villains at the moment.
With Dr evil 'Evans' controlling it all from his mountain side lair.
Paul Lambert is the latest saviour ( 2 points from 6 games) coming in like Flash Gordon to save the day!
The reality is that this club has been slowly but surely heading this way for 18 years.
I have been saying this to fellow supporters for years ( of which I get no pleasure from might I add) every dog has its day and ours was 40 years ago.
You can't go blaming the owner, you can't blame previous managers, you can't go blaming the players.
Unfortunately Ipswich fans have accepted mid table mediocrity for many years. When you start to accept average, there is only one way to go. And that's down.

@Northstandveteran - more of a case that we haven't had a decent central midfielder for yonks!

He has certainly stepped up to the mark since Lambert arrived who has pushed him to be more forward thinking and as a result he has performed better in the past few games than at any time since he joined us, just shows what a negative set up in previous seasons can do to a player

thats another blow we could do without, what a sh#t season. Talk about getting kicked when you are down. I'm convinced McCARTHY is sticking pins in a voodoo doll ,and chuckling to himself. [WHOOPS] that will get me down marked by you know who ! lol.
