Town are selling copies of the book 1980-81 The Greatest Season in Ipswich Town’s History with half the proceeds going to the family of Blues legend Kevin Beattie, who died in September aged 64.

The book, written by Mel Henderson, Town's public relations officer at the time, is an account of the year in which the club won its only European trophy and just missed out on a treble.

It features interviews with all that season’s players, Sir Bobby Robson and Bobby Ferguson, skipper Mick Mills’s top ten matches and top ten goals from the season and much more.

"The season proved to be Beattie’s last for the Blues and he missed the UEFA Cup final victory over AZ 67 Alkmaar having broken his arm in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, his final match.

1980-81 The Greatest Season in Ipswich Town’s History, which was published by White Space Design in 2011, has been re-released in Beattie’s memory.

The book is available in Planet Blue or online for £9.99 with a poster of Beattie in action.
