El Mizouni Set for Cap
Thursday, 15th Nov 2018 10:55

Academy midfielder Idris El Mizouni is set to win his second cap with the Tunisian Olympic side this afternoon when they play Egypt in a friendly in Alexandria.

The squad met up for a training camp on Monday before flying out to Egypt yesterday alongside the Tunisian senior side, who face the Pharoahs in an Africa Cup of Nations game tomorrow.

El Mizouni, who was born in France but qualifies for Tunisia via his father, has made an impressive start to the season with Town in the U18s and U23s and we understand has been offered a professional contract.

The 18-year-old won his first cap with the Tunisian Olympic team - an U23s squad - last month when he played the first 79 minutes of a 2-0 friendly defeat to Italy in Vicenza.

That match and Thursday’s game are part of the squad’s preparations for the qualifiers for the African U23 Nations Cup, which will be held in Egypt in November 2019 and forms the qualifying process for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
