Hope he tells us he's laid the law down with some of the slackers in the team and taking no more displays like Exeter. Bit of practice shooting and actually scoring wouldn't go amiss either. Would like to hear he's going to try 2 up front too. Decent experienced defender on loan too? Can only dream.

Think we should be busting a gut to get Cameron Carter Vickers back on loan + an experienced midfielder & striker.

To be honest, I really don't envy PH at the moment (okay, yes, the money would be great, but apart from that...)

He has the unenviable task of walking the very fine line between:

a) Having to rollock the Town players enough to show them and the fans that he means business;

and

b) Rollocking them TOO much and therefore losing the dressing-room and annoying the fans.

Personally, I am glad that he called-them-out after the Exeter debacle BUT he has to be careful and not become TOO totalitarian/unlistening/stubborn, otherwise they just won't believe in him/listen to him/respect him/play for him.

In my own limited way I walk this line constantly in my job as a teacher. The kids need keeping in line, but if I go too far I lose them...

For me, it's WAY too early to judge PH. I get the feeling he doesn't even know where he's at yet!

So, I am hanging in there with him, glad to have put the last years behind us and hopeful that, over time, we'll see Town enter a bright, new era.

If any set of fans have ever deserved a change in fortunes, it must be us...

Yes - Carter-Vickers and try and bring in Nugent.

Restore Andre Dozzell immediately

From what I have seen we pass the ball around a lot but appear to not have much luck in front of goal.
Whether Skuse is able to play the attacking role the juries still out

Why keep harping on about Dozzell.....he's no where near match fit. We're not going to see him this side of Xmas mark my words.

Feel Villa will be to strong for us at the minute.... think it will take at least 10 games for the players to come to terms with the Championship, each other and Hurst new system... so Villa win gut feeling say 3-1
fingers crossed I am wrong

he seems like a genuine bloke, wears his heart on his sleeve, and i like that he is trying to change things and breathe new life into the club, just wish he had taken it a bit slower, you can bring one or perhaps two players into the team and get them up to scratch, but to go in and practically renew the whole team with such,is too much. I think that was naive ,the Championship is tough, unforgiving, and allows little room or time for bad runs if you are to survive. It was a huge gamble appointing him and a huge gamble to do what he has done. This year is about survival , and if the gamblers in the bookies are right, the odds are stacked heavily against us .Just hope we defy the odds . COYB .

Just play the midfield that played against West Ham please. The players who have kept them out haven't exactly set the world in fire and at least if we get smashed that way we can say we gave the youngsters a go, in a game we are not expected to get anything. I actually think this game will suit us more than the others. Villa have been dodgey at the back and reckon we could Nick the ball with a good press. Just worry how much they are going to dominate the midfield looking at our midfield in the last 3 games.

Lets hope Jackson is the new Johnson and Nolan the new Holland and Edwards the new Petta

I was really excited about this season, until we got rid of our strikers.
Been a supporter for 50 years and thirty plus years been a season ticket holder.
I finding really hard watching - If Town play well and still loose okay no problem
But what I can't stand is when we loose and no effort but in.
Yeah the team has potential - but we haven't got strikers who get stuck in - we just sold them.
The club needs to make money and when you get money for players who are around their 30s fair enough but you need to replace them with the same quality. It's Murphy situation all over again!
I suppose the plus side is more time at the bar.

poor bloke seemed to be shell shocked, hopefully things improve for him .I know a lot of people are calling for Dozzell to be playing, but you have to respect the manager and staffs decision if they think he is not fully fit, he is a youngster and they are looking after him with his future at stake .

For me Dozzell has to stay at town and get himself more robustly fit. It seems the club are not making the mistakes of last year where injuries kept happening and players appeared to be rushed back. Much as I would love to see him in the team or on the bench he is clearly not ready. I am definitely concerned re. Chalobah and Skuse in midfield, both are wanting to be similar but Skuse is not exactly fitting into the system in the forward position - swap them over perhaps where Chalobah's skill and poise on the ball could make more of a difference. Hoping Edwards is fit as he really does have the ability to excite, like many others would like to see Jackson and Harrison playing as a pair.

My team would be 4-4-2: Bart - Donacien - Kenlock - Nsiala - Chambers, Edwards - Chalobah - Skuse (deep lying) - Edun. Harrison - Jackson. The bench needs to be able to swap about and change so would include Downes, Nydam and Ben Morris.

just lets at least have a good performance and not end up getting tonked. A good display against a team who must be favoured to go back up, would at least give cause for hope. Really needs to be a max effort display from our lads , for Hurst and the fans. COYB .
