Oshilaja the Tenth Man?
Thursday, 9th Aug 2018 16:53

AFC Wimbledon skipper Deji Oshilaja appears to be the player the Blues are hoping to make their 10th signing of the summer before today’s 5pm deadline.

Town and Charlton are reported to have had offers turned down by the League One club but the situation may well have progressed with developments happening thick and fast as the deadline draws closer.

Londoner Oshilaja, 25, was with Cardiff’s youth set-up during which time he spent spells on loan at Newport, Sheffield Wednesday and Gillingham. The central defender joined the Dons last summer.

If Town are unsuccessful in their move for Oshilaja today, they could well look to take him on loan at some point before the end of the month.

Where does he play? Was this article pushed desperately to get it out before 5?

This would be a massive surprise if we do this in time. Reckon we will have to settle with a loan.

You only have to agree verbally by 5. You then have until 7 to do the paperwork

All the Town footballing experts suddenly gaining knowledge of an AFC Dons player. In truth they've never heard of him nor seen him play.

Smacks a little bit of a desperate move this one, plenty of defenders have been loaned around that have been in the news and with Woolfy injured that could be a right pain in the nethers!!

Desperately boring transfer window again. Nothing ever happens. I suppose we now have to wait until January.

I think this player passed the medical & contracts signed etc. Not sure if it went through.

Never heard of this player or seen him.

Hopefully he will be good

no messing from PH. I like it. Got nowhere with Blackpool, move on to this guy. Doesn't muck around.

As 99.9% of people on here, I have not heard of/about him before.
But PH hopefully knows what he is doing.

He maybe a short ass, but he is our Paul hurst.

Couldn't we have signed Tilt on loan and then negotiated the January fee in due course?
2

CBlue added 17:50 - Aug 9
Durham, from what i know we can still do that as the loan window closes end of August and there is a standard loan option now available to clubs to take a loan that becomes permanent in Jan.

Maybe we can get CCV back from spurs

Not sure about this one. Very disappointing not to get Tilt and it feels like we've cut our noses off to spite our face on that one.

Interesting reaction to Bowyers departure on social media from the Blackpool fans, and an insight into why we were unable to deal with the owners here: https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/social-media-reac
