U18s Lose to West Ham
Saturday, 4th Aug 2018 16:33 by James Ager

Town's U18s surrendered a half-time lead given to them by Thomas Hughes (pictured) and were beaten 2-1 by West Ham United in a friendly at Playford Road on Saturday morning.

Armando Dobra came close to opening the scoring on 21 when the ball broke to him following a strong challenge on Kai Brown, but Town's number 14 rolled the ball inches wide of the far post.

Ten minutes later the Blues did take the lead however. Idris El Mizouni's shot was well saved but Hughes was left with a simple tap in at the back post.

Seven minutes after the restart Hammers skipper Louie Watson levelled the scores with a low shot across Toby Egan that found the far bottom corner.

On 78 the visitors netted what proved to be the winning goal when Seb Nebyla found the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

U18s: Egan, Ronan, Smith (O'Reilly 63), Scott, Henry, Vega, Foudil, El Mizouni (Z Brown 63), K Brown, Dobra (Healey 46), Hughes (Barley 63). Unused: Alley.
