Sutton Confirm Drinan Loan
Wednesday, 1st Aug 2018 21:34

Vanarama National League Sutton United have confirmed the loan signing of Blues striker Aaron Drinan following his trial.

The 20-year-old Irishman came on as a half-time sub for the Amber and Chocolates in their 1-0 friendly victory over Norwich City’s U23s on Saturday and evidently impressed enough to handed the chance to spend the first half of the season at Gander Green Lane.

Drinan moved to the Blues from Waterford in his native Ireland in January and is yet to make a first team appearance despite having been on the bench on five occasions.

Best of luck Aaron! A lot of us will follow you closely. Go there and show Hurst your thirst and hunger!

Good move for all parties, I think. Could turn out where the player returns toughened up for the first team like Woolfenden at Bromley, or where the player finds his level (for now) as with McDonnell at Aldershot.

Not good enough for us, rightly sent out to further his own career.

Great opportunity for him to go out and develop with proper first team football. Sutton looked a tidy side last season as well so he might get a few goals there.
