Young Town XI at AFC Sudbury
Thursday, 19th Jul 2018 15:20

A young Town XI will play a friendly against AFC Sudbury at King’s Marsh this evening (KO 7.45pm).

The travelling party is likely to be mainly academy scholars and perhaps some of the trialists who were involved at Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday.

The game will preceded by a chance to take part in walking football on Sudbury's 3G pitch.

The clubhouse, bar and kitchen will open from 6.30pm with admission £5 for adult and free for under-18s.

Last summer an U23s side were beaten 3-1 by Sudbury, who play in the Bostik League North, with Declan Daniels, who was released by the Blues academy towards the end of last season, netting for Gerard Nash’s team.

1-0 up at half time, but down to 10 men. Someone had a hissy fit it seems, didn't see it as was getting a burger, which is rather pleasent.

2-0 to the Young Towen lads. Great breakaway. First shot saved, simple tap in finish.
Apparently lad sent off is on trial from a team in France, think he'll be heading back via Dover as soon as the game is finished

Good result from a very young Ipswich XI. Moment of madness led to sending off, but we sustained the pressure well even when down to 10.
