Woolfenden Extends Bromley Loan
Monday, 22nd Jan 2018 16:05

Blues youngster Luke Woolfenden has extended his loan with Vanarama National League Bromley into a second month.

The 19-year-old centre-half or right-back has made six appearances since joining the Ravens a couple of days before Christmas. He will now remain at Hayes Lane until Saturday 24th February.

Academy product Woolfenden, who is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2019 with the club having an option for a further year, has made one start and one sub appearance for the Blues, both in this season’s Carabao Cup.

How is playing at Bromley helping? This lad impressed when he played in the cup but was never given a chance in the league despite town being very short of defenders early season. Surely the only way to show you can handle Championship football is to play it. I could understand it if he had played a couple of games and not been good enough but we never seem to give our youngsters a chance. We seem more intent on giving other clubs youngsters game time instead of our own.

MM believes playing football week in,week out is better than warming the bench and getting occasional minutes. When MM believes he's ready for the first,he'll play.Plenty of youngsters get an opportunity with MM.

I hope this young man bucks the trend but one or two of our promising younger players seem to go out on loan and then realesed or move on IE. Marriott, i have seen this young man several times and feel he has a future in the game hopefully with us

Woolfy? Power to the people! (I'll get my coat) Seriously though, he should be knocking on the door towards the end of the season: we need to give these kids game time once safety is assured (barring a miracle).

Any excuse to knock MM.
The Morriett thing.....would he get a game at Ipswich was he ready for Championship football.....sometimes you have to let players go for them to improve.....
Moore looked good in Div 1 only time will tell if he is good enough for the Championship.
Wickham was the next England forward where is he now

How long would it a took for the so called town fans to destroy Marriott if he was not scoring week in week out if MM had put him in the team

My point was that we are producing these promising youngsters at a good rate but instead of using them here we seem to prefer to send them out on loan to lower leagues and then bring in other clubs youngsters of the same age and play them here. Then when our youngsters do well we seem to take the first offer and sell them We have produced enough quality youngsters over the last ten years to have had a damn good team by now. Are we trying to build for the future or just running a business?
