Baltacha, the first player from the Soviet Union to play in the Football League when he joined Town in 1988, spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live earlier in the week.

Northstandveteran added 10:03 - Jan 20 I remember being in the family enclosure in front of the boxes as a kid with my dad on Baltacha's debut seeing all the Soviet flags around the ground. If I remember correctly it was against Stoke City with Mick Mills as their manager. 0-0 at half time, Sergei got the opener and we won 5-1 Remember the buzz and excitement of the North stand creating an electrifying atmosphere. And my dad moaning because it cost him a fiver for us both to go and I wanted a pound for an Ipswich flag 😂
