Rotherham Boss: Moore Not Involved at Fulham and Town Set to Sell
Monday, 1st Jan 2018 19:26

Rotherham boss Paul Warne says Kieffer Moore won’t be involved with the Blues at Fulham tomorrow night and that Town will sell the 25-year-old frontman, whose season-long loan with the League One Millers they have cut short, during the transfer window.

Following his side’s 1-1 draw with Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers at the New York Stadium this afternoon, Warne told reporters that Town won’t be including Moore in their squad at Craven Cottage as they plan to sell him.

He added that Rotherham, who have made a club record offer, are one of three clubs battling it out for the striker, who cost the Blues £20,000 when he was signed from Forest Green Rovers in January 2017.

Charlton, Scunthorpe and Bradford are believed to be among the other clubs interested in 6ft 5in tall Moore, who scored 13 goals for the Millers during the first half of the season.

The Torquay-born striker, who it's understood wasn't involved in training at Playford Road this morning, is contracted to Town until the end of the season with the club having an option for a further year.

He's out of order trying to force our hand. Probably won't get him now that other clubs are rumoured to be interested.
However having praised Drinan it would seem that mick has made up his mind. Plus he's got Folami and McKendry in reserve. It wouldn't have cost us to at least give Moore a chance and maybe enhance his value. Must be big sell on clause if he did go.

If this means we keep Bart and Webster and sign a midfielder on loan it won't be so bad.

Totally agree with Sneeky King above. What's the betting that if we gave him the chance and he fails to deliver (like before), he comes to the end of his contract, is worthless and the same people will then moan that we should have sold him when we had chance to get money for him!

Don't know what all the fuss is about as in my opinion Moore is not good enough for the Championship. Granted I have only seen him a few times but there is a massive difference between playing in Division One and the Championship. Would Moore oust Garner or Waghorn - I don't think so. Maybe be good as a sub for his height but I'm for taking the money on this one - just my opinion.

WHERHER SOLD Or not - their manager should not be discussing OUR match day squads and OUR transfers.

I was looking forward to him coming back. If we sell, it will only be good business if the money is re-invested.

Somebody mentioned about Mings at Bournemouth, I always look at there team selection every week and he does not even get on the Bench, so he must be just an expensive supporter ????

If Moore departs perhaps Stern John is being lined up as a replacement 😉

Wasn't sure about Kieffer last season. He looked a bit out-of-his-depth. His loan spell was more successful than anyone could have envisaged so I would have liked to see him return and given another run in the team to prove himself.

I just hope we don't let him go for a pathetic fee. Turning a £20k punt into a player who should be able to command a move for 500k+ is always great business, just don't let him go for peanuts.

Just because he isn't In the squad for Fulham doesn't mean we are selling him and Warne is just hoping he will get him cos he's offer the money the way we have been playing just lately by punting it up top and expecting Garner to nod it on which I think he is very good at but Moore would be better at it at he is a very good hold up player to let Garner do other things so fingers crossed this is a load of s#$%e

Surely it's all down to where the player wants to go in the end. KM wants to join Rotherham.

Maybe Mick will stick two fingers up at Warne, place him in the squad and sell him to their rivals

Clearly the recall was designed to trigger bidding. If he wasn't playing well the he would be left to see out the season long loan. His value is now as high as it's likely to get.

It's the one position we have no urgent need so why not cash in

Back on subject, I really don't see him getting much if any of game time here, and anything that can help us fill the middle of the pitch with quality that is on the pitch not the treatment table is what we need and should be taken.

But please tell me that Mick will get the funds for the loan we need to fill this nightmare gap!!!

........ keep being mugged you fools - just keep coughing up and Evans, Milne and McCarthy will be pleased with you all.

That's all that really matters - it's just a question as to how many years / seasons more it will take for the 'penny to drop' with some of you.

we will probably get 800K for him....

Which is the same amount we would have got if New Zealand had beaten Peru in the World Cup qualifiers....

League 1 is probably about his level let's be honest.

Whatever we get needs spending on a couple of midfielders..preferably creative ones.

we should rename ITFC as Austerity FC. perhaps we can spend the money on the wages of an over 30 year old pudding that has been released last season
