Bru Wins Cap as Mauritius Thrashed in Togo
Sunday, 12th Nov 2017 19:00

Blues midfielder Kevin Bru won his 13th full cap as Mauritius were thrashed 6-0 by Togo in a friendly at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé this afternoon.

Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba netted four times for the home side and Mathieu Dossevi and Emmanuel Adebayor once each.

Mauritius, who are currently 158th in FIFA's rankings to Togo’s 124th, are now without a win in their last 10 internationals.

Meanwhile, academy first-year scholar Kian Ronan is currently away with the Gibraltar U19s in Greece playing European Championships qualifying group games.

The 16-year-old Harlow-based right-back or midfielder, whose mother and grandparents were born in Gibraltar, started Wednesday’s 6-0 defeat to Russia and Saturday’s 5-0 loss to the hosts, his first U19s caps having previously won three for the U17s.

The Gibraltarian youngsters complete their fixtures against Romania on Tuesday.

Oh dear...winning his 13th cap as well. They nearly beat Togo a couple of years ago (ended 1-1, but Mauritius hit the post in the dying moments). Seems this was much more one-sided.
