Arsenal Linked With Nydam Move
Sunday, 29th Oct 2017 10:39

Arsenal are reported to be ready to make a January move for young Town midfielder Tristan Nydam.

According to The Sun on Sunday, the Gunners are long-time admirers of the 17-year-old and Arsene Wenger will step up his interest during the next transfer window.

Arsenal are said to be preparing a £2 million bid for the England U19 international having been alerted that the Zimbabwe-born Blues academy product has only 18 months left on his contract.

However, that situation is largely down to players only being allowed to sign two-year contracts prior to their 18th birthdays. The terms signed on his 17th birthday are up next summer but presumably with the club having an option for a further season.

Nydam turns 18 on November 6th when it’s expected he will put pen to paper on an extended deal, as Andre Dozzell - who was similarly linked with big Premier League clubs after breaking into the the Town first team - did when he celebrated his 18th in May.

That being the case, it’s unlikely the Blues would allow the Colchester-raised youngster to move on at this early stage of his career or for anything like the fee suggested.

Nydam has made eight starts and four sub appearances for Town this season having made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup tie at Luton in August.

....... read it - then forget it. Lad is still far to slight for the Championship, and Premiership. However, extremely talented young lad.

.......adeblueboy is not too far off the mark - as skilful as he is, Nydam has, in fairness, looked lost at times - he is too slight at the moment for midfield in the Championship.

Other than some neat touches etc; which he is so capable of - he hasn't contributed too much. The physique is just not there yet.

Do it! Then at the press conference, McCarthy can brag about the money Evans has made and then doesn't put it back into the team.

I suppose that ME has to get a return from somewhere and if the first team regulars can,t command a fee, he will have to cash in on the youngsters.
