Garner Misses Out as Blues Make Three Changes Against Blades
Saturday, 14th Oct 2017 14:10

Striker Joe Garner misses this afternoon’s game at Sheffield United having picked up a knee injury as Town make three changes from the team which lost 3-1 to Bristol City a fortnight ago.

Bersant Celina and Jordan Spence drop to the bench, while Myles Kenlock, Grant Ward and Adam Webster - making his first league start since January - all come into the XI, which looks set to play in a 3-5-2 system matching the Blades’ formation.

Tommy Smith returns to the matchday squad for the first time since recovering from his hamstring injury.

Town: Bialkowski, Iorfa, Chambers (c), Webster, Knudsen, Kenlock, Ward, Skuse, Nydam, Waghorn, McGoldrick. Subs: Gerken, Smith, Celina, Spence, Connolly, Sears, Downes.

Sheffield United: Blackman, Stevens, Fleck, O’Connell, Basham, Lundstram, Clarke, Sharp (c), Carter-Vickers, Freeman, Duffy. Subs: Moore, Donaldson, Wright, Hanson, Lafferty, Brooks, Carruthers. Tony Harrington (Cleveland).

Celina out. 'Not a game got flair'. Can sense 5 at the back and two holding. Slowly getting back to last year.

How MM pick iorfa above Spence is beyond me. Spence has been one of our better most consistent performers so far this season. Oh and feckin miles better.

3 defenders on the bench - would have preferred either Rowe or Folami given a chance?

Two weeks off and someone gets injured .A big enquirer needed to work what goes oni in training at this club during International breaks.Never a fully fit squad after these breaks.

Yes can't see what Rowe has done wrong? Unless injured. I don't believe it is one of those situations when a player looks a better option when not in the team or even the squad, he just hasn't been given any chance full stop!

As expected. Webster is back and rightly in the team. But the dinosaur reverts to type. Spence is and has been all season miles ahead of the liability Chambers but Muck still picks him. An absolute disgrace and a completely wrong decision. Too slow, can't win a header, can't tackle, can't pass. Can shout a lot and is a proper bloke though.

An utter joke McCarthy !!!!!!

Not there today Rommy? I think calling Chambers excellent this season is pushing it! Decent. Average. Not excellent.

Ipswich overrun in first half an hour;but we have seen much more of the ball since.Could it be that Webster has moved a bit further forward that's made the difference?

Midfield a bit anon but think Mick has put Webbo further forward to strengthen there.Nydam not in the game and Chambers making a lot of mistakes.

Listening to the commentary on Radio Suffolk on thing is obvious, that the difference between average players and good players. Listen to how the Town team are fluffing their chances in front of goal, the word " panic" springs to mind. That's why they are just average players.
