Nydam and Knudsen Start at Leeds
Saturday, 23rd Sep 2017 14:15

Tristan Nydam and Jonas Knudsen return to the Town side as the fifth-placed Blues take on leaders Leeds United at Elland Road.

Nydam, 17, is set to make his second Championship start at left midfield with Knudsen returning to left-back having missed last week’s 2-0 win against Bolton with a hamstring injury.

Callum Connolly and Myles Kenlock drop to the bench, while Dominic Iorfa returns to right-back in a 4-4-2 system.

Leeds: Wiedwald, Anita, Cooper (c), Shaughnessy, Ayling, O'Kane, Phillips, Alioski, Hernandez, Saiz, Lasogga. Subs: Lonergan, Pennington, Beradi, Klich, Dallas, Roofe, Grot.

Town: Bialkowski, Iorfa, Spence, Chambers (c), Knudsen, Ward, Adeyemi, Skuse, Nydam, Garner, McGoldrick. Subs: Gerken, Waghorn, Celina, Connolly, Sears, Kenlock, Woolfenden. Referee: Geoff Eltringham (County Durham).

Very interesting! Would have preferred Celina on from start as Leeds bound to go all out from start so it could have helped to give them something to think about. Hopefully we'll keep them out and pinch 1-0.

Doesn't matter how well Kenlock did in the last game, Knudsen comes straight back in.

Just like when Bart lost his place because his father died. Gerks came in... and subsequently kept his place for months.

I understand that we're away to a very strong side, but what a negative team and Mick is going there to play for a 0-0! Why not start Celina and actually play for the counter attack - AT LEAST!? So frustrating!

Poor old Kenlock!...in one game out the next and so on and so on and Knudsen goes into his place at LB where I don't rate him. The inclusion of Nydam is a surprise though, If Mick was going for the win he should have started Celina or Waghorn.

A draw would be okay but expecting a loss.

iantaylorx - Nydam, Ward and Adeyemi all starting, how is that negative?
Celina was great last week when he came on and I hope we see more and more of him, however he gave the ball away on the edge of our box at least three times also
Maybe away to the league leaders isn't the place to start him?

Usual defensive formation by our manager. Why for once can't he lose his inhibitions and play the best team i.e Kenlock and Celina and go for a win ? It makes sense and we can attempt a victory instead of playing not to lose for once a la Burley and Royle. Looking bad..and boring

The bloke is so stubborn it annoys the fcuk out of me. All for giving youth team players a chance but from I've seen Celina is clearly our most talented player and an out and out potential match winner. I hope not but I've got Leeds to win by a couple.

Usual "blokes" in the team and as usual sending out his clear message that his mates will play and not the best formation. Clearly not our best team and not listening to the fans who know better..

Hang on chaps, Leeds are gonna wop us, so keep it tight and not to many
adventures and we may get something from it. We have a poor squad so each game requires tact and we all Know mm has that.

Kenlock & Celina must be fuming. Why should they put in 100% when they know this negative stubborn boring idiot will drop them anyway !!!!!!

Celina was sick for 6 weeks, played in the u23's,had a dead leg and couldn't train. So MM is a numpty for not starting him, please God,give me the strength to get me thro' this long season again with the MM haters hating him for making sensible and considered decisons for the well being of both the player and the team.

Lets go gung ho and lose 4-0! What a great idea, I can see why so many on here are top class managers.

No doubt Mick will throw Celina on when the game's out of reach.
