On-Loan Striker Moore Nominated for League One Award
Wednesday, 6th Sep 2017 09:37

Blues striker Kieffer Moore, who is spending the season on loan at Rotherham, has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for August.

Moore, 25, joined the Millers in July along with right-back Josh Emmanuel, who is also at the New York Stadium for the season, and has made an impressive start to the campaign, scoring four goals from three starts including a hat-trick against Southend.

The other nominees are ex-Town striker Jack Marriott, who has netted six times in four games since joining Peterborough from Luton in the summer, Charlton’s Patrick Bauer and Fleetwood keeper Alex Cairns. The winner will be announced on Friday.

My guess is Marriott will get it, but good to see Moore starting well - hopefully he'll continue to improve and make progress and then if he comes back, confident and ready to make the next step up to the Championship that he clearly wasn't ready for before, we'll reap the benefits of this loan as well as him doing so.
I'm glad we didn't just cash in during the transfer window. It's fine him being out on loan for now.

What did we pay? 20k? If he carries on surely in the current market he would be worth 500k? Win win be it stay or go

if this doesn't go to Marriott he'll be hard done by. he looks really up for it this season.

I said that big Kief would do well on loan and that his confidence would grow and grow. he's clearly enjoying his football and the fans love him there. should make a few quid from his sale if he doesn't get game time next season.

This is his level and I think he will come back better and with more attack about him.

If he excels in league 1 than he is capable at Championship level. He just needs the experience, confidence and consistency at this stage in his career to push on. He could be a real asset to us in January and a genuine up front.

A certain Jack Marriott is progressing very nicely. Think he'll cut it in the championship yet.
