McCarthy: Interest in Players
Friday, 7th Jul 2017 16:48

Boss Mick McCarthy says Town have received interest in one of their players and also loan enquiries regarding two other members of his squad.

“There has been a bit of interest, certainly in one of the players, and in terms of loans we have had enquiries about two others,” the Blues manager told the club site.

The loan enquiries are almost certainly from Rotherham regarding striker Kieffer Moore and right-back Josh Emmanuel, while the identity of the other player targeted is currently a mystery, although Wolves were recently eyeing left-back Jonas Knudsen.

Striker Brett Pitman and midfielder Kevin Bru are understood to have been told they can move on if they can find themselves new clubs over the summer.

Time for us to bid for Raggett at Lincoln before he signs new deal :-)

Are Pitman and Bru in Ireland? Anyone know? Or are they totally frozen out now never to be seen again? Not that that would be a bad thing by the way.

Doggie left the club at the end of his contract so doubtful.

I'm amazed there is not more interest in Pittman tho.

Huddersfield and Fulham are in for Bart for around £2.25m. Jon Parkin will have a medical on Monday to complete his £25k move to PR from York, and we are close to signing Rohan Ince from Brighton for £750k with add ons if we go up (stay up!)

Of course its Bart

surely £2.25 million would be well short of the mark. How much did we get for Wright 10 years ago or whatever?

Glad the interest in Bart has quietened down. Seems like we will keep him. I expect the interest has been for Moore, Emmanuel and then possibly someone like Hyam or Bishop for a loan move. Possibly Knudsen but would be surprised as Wolves have recently signed a left back. We need another striker in my opinion, been linked with a few, Marquis, Bent, both would be interesting

Jon Parkin?? Brilliant. Is it April Fools Day? He's 35 & a fair few pounds overweight.

Bye bye Bart?

Let's not do our usual and off load players, save on wages, make a couple of decent fee signings, but then sell a key asset for significantly more than we have spent.

Decent start to transfer window, but we can Ill afford to sell anyone until new players are brought in. Our squad is painfully small.

If Darlow is possibly on his way from Newcastle to Middlesbrough
for 5 million plus, then Bart must be worth even more.

Assuming that it is none of our recent signings, then it has to be Bart. I mean, who would bid for anyone else?

Please let it be Skuse...

This might depend on what question he was asked. I took it to mean interest in one of the players who has been made available with loan interest in others. Perhaps wishful thinking only on my part though.

Hopefully not a Premier team for Bart. Suspect that if good bid is received from Premier team MM saying "wouldn't be fair to stand in his way etc etc". Let's hope it's Skuse exciting a League 2 team ........ could we be so lucky

I hope Bru has a lift arranged.

Both Watford and Derby have come in for Cole in his time with us but he didn't want to leave.

Surely Bart - anything north of £4 mill I'd take. We sell one at least per summer and this won't be any different.

He's a good keeper sure but certainly not irreplaceable.

There was a rumour kicking about that a Championship club had made a bid for Freddie Sears

Reckon it's Pitman on his way! At a guess Millwall or Bolton will sign him⚽️
